Cost-efficient production of the TeDaloS IoT warehouse monitoring solution<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Knowing at all times where and how much goods are in the warehouse – until now, this was not so easy with consumer goods, such as screws or liquids, and often only the time-consuming inventory helped for an exact overview and to detect shortages or excess stock. The Austrian startup TeDaloS has developed an IoT solution for digital inventory monitoring precisely for this case, which makes it possible to know the exact quantity, condition and location of each individual material – online and as a digital twin of physical reality. It doesn’t matter if it’s small parts, bulk materials, liquids, raw materials or spare parts. Founded in 2016, the company invested heavily in research and development of sensor technology and software. The result is maintenance-free IoT modules with years of battery life that communicate via radio and are ready for immediate use. “The big plus of our solution is that it is so easy to operate without the user needing any expertise” explains CEO Thomas Tritremmel.” For series production of the sensor units, TeDaloS now relies on extensive cooperation with TELE Haase EMS.<\/p>\n

Local EMS with best consulting service<\/h3>\n

“We chose Electronic Manufacturing Services from TELE because they represented the best offer for what we needed. EMS service providers from Southern Europe and Asia do offer cheaper production of large lot sizes. But when it came to smaller batches and greater coordination effort plus the corresponding consulting services, the commercial decision was clearly in favor of TELE,” says Tritremmel, explaining his motivation. For TeDaloS, the local proximity of the local EMS provider was also a criterion. This means that the company can not only save on transport costs, but also simply get a picture on site and discuss challenges in the process personally with the experts at any time. “TELE was flexible with the process,” recalls Tritremmel. “In the first order, we commissioned the final production of our IoT sensor units and were able to optimize many things here while still in the process, such as selecting the right cables or the exact placement of the components in the device. TeDaLoS system in use at TELE<\/h3>\n

TELE Haase produces at the location Vienna 23 and also has its own high-bay warehouse here. Therefore, it was obvious to use the TeDaLoS system for inventory monitoring of consumables within the scope of the cooperation. Depending on the application, for example on a pallet, in a drum or in a small parts chute, sensor modules in various sizes are used here. Simply retrofitted to the storage location, the IoT solution transmits its data wirelessly, battery-powered and by radio. TELE uses user-friendly online software to assign the data to materials, cost centers and reporting thresholds. In this way, TELE has a constant digital overview of the inventory and is alerted in good time when something needs to be reordered. The system can also be easily connected to the existing merchandise management system via data interfaces.
In the production cooperation with TELE-EMS, TeDaLoS has now had a variety of sensor units produced in series. To address this, TELE optimized every single step of the process and built various auxiliary assembly devices. In addition, a new quality assurance process was created in which nameplates and serial numbers are affixed to the housing and automatically compared with an existing barcode on the circuit board. “We are very satisfied with the cooperation, and the quality of the first batch is also impeccable.
